Thought we needed this today

It's been a rough day for everybody here with the uncertainty about the fate of the warmblood mares...and sometimes these things happen in rescue. I still don't know any more than the rest of you do, but I wanted to give you a nice image to sleep on. So without further ado, here is Colin (Petersburg Knight) out at pasture with his new friends.

And Miss Lucy, on her third day of her new life, enjoying her grain and supplements in my quarantine pasture.

We can never save them all, but Colin and Lucy and Prince and Cricket and Scarlett and so many more I can name are grateful that we keep trying, despite the disappointments that inevitably happen. For all of the people who make us tear out our hair, there is a NCCatnip out there, putting up fence in the heat for four horses that other people threw away - four horses she didn't even know a few months ago. Don't get so wrapped up in the bad news that you forget all the good. The world is changing for the better for horses and all animals - it is constantly improving. I just keep spotlighting the problems so that we don't lose our momentum :-)
